Six-year veteran tested after Bladensburg accident

A six-year veteran of the Prince George's County Police Department has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after getting into an accident early Saturday morning.

The department says that Police Officer First Class Daniel Gonzalez got into a single-car accident at the intersection of Route 1 and Tanglewood Drive in Bladensburg at around 5:15 a.m. Saturday. The responding officer gave Gonzalez a breathalyzer test, which produced a .13 breath alcohol level sample.

Gonzalez was released after being charged with DUI. The investigation into the case is ongoing
