Site Found for Potomac Nationals Stadium: Report

Details expected to be released soon

After an almost year-long search, a site has been found for a new Potomac Nationals stadium, according to a report in Insidenova.com.

The site is along the Interstate 95 corridor near Opitz Boulevard in Prince William County.

Corey Stewart, the chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, refuses to confirm the report but expects an official announcement to be made within three weeks.

"We've overcome some major obstacles," Stewart told insidenova.com. "We've never been this close to having a deal."

Stewart said the stadium will be visible from I-95.

Officials are looking into whether a garage for baseball fans could also accommodate commuter parking, he said.

The Potomac Nationals currently play in Pfitzner Stadium, which was built in 1984 when the team moved to Woodbridge from Alexandria.
