Possible Police Impersonator Reported in Md.

Maryland officials are alerting drivers to a possible police impersonator.

Maryland State Police said Tuesday morning a female diver reported a black Chevrolet SUV displaying red and blue flashing lights attempted to stop her on Interstate 70 westbound in Washington County.

State Police said in a statement that the woman stopped and the vehicle pulled in behind her. The woman told authorities that the vehicle had a Montana license plate and that she stayed in her vehicle with the windows up and called 911.

As a man got out of the vehicle and approached the woman's car, she told him through the closed window that she had called 911, police said. The man returned to his vehicle and left.
