Two people were taken to the hospital early Thursday morning after their car crashed into Rock Creek, closing Rock Creek Parkway for a portion of the morning commute.
According to police, a man and a woman were traveling southbound on Rock Creek Parkway around 2:30 a.m. when their car crossed into the northbound lane and landed upside down in the creek.
The woman is in critical condition while the man is expected to be okay.
Rock Creek Parkway reopened at 8 a.m.
U.S. Park Police are handling the investigation into the crash. It's still not known what caused the driver to leave the road.
