Ponzi Schemer's Luxury Vehicles Sold at Auction

Inmate’s luxury vehicles go up for auction

Hundreds of people went to Elkridge, Md., Tuesday for a chance at getting the keys to a high-end ride.

The government auctioned off 17 of Bryon Keith Brown’s luxury vehicles.

Brown is serving a 15-year sentence for running a $17 million Ponzi scheme. Authorities said he duped wealthy investors between 2003 and 2009.

Brown was caught as part of Operation Broken Trust, which led to hundreds of investment fraud arrests since August.

Profits from the sale of Brown’s Lamborghini, Maserati, Ferrari and many other luxury wheels will be used to pay back his victims. The auction netted the government close to $1.1 million.

Organizers say people as far as Ohio drove in for the sale.
