Businessman and philanthropist Abe Pollin is remembered.

Memorial services for Washington Wizards owner, philanthropist and developer Abe Pollin will be held on Friday and on Dec. 8.

Friday's memorial will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation in northwest D.C.

A public memorial service will be held on Dec. 8 at Pollin's Verizon Center. A time has not been set for that memorial.

Some streets will be closed for Friday's funeral. Macomb Street will be closed near the Washington Hebrew Congregation between Massachusetts and Idaho avenues, police said. Also, 39th Street will be closed between Massachusetts Avenue and Newark Street.
