Police: Wig-Wearing Woman Robs Two Banks

A woman wore a blonde wig when she robbed two banks in the Vienna, Va., area last week, according to Fairfax County police.

About 11:30 a.m. Saturday a woman passed a teller a note demanding money at United Bank at 2071 Chain Bridge Road. The teller complied and the woman fled, police said.

Police believe the same woman robbed a Bank of America July 15.

In addition to wearing a blonde wig, she carries a Coach purse, police said. She is a black woman about 30-35 years old, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 150-170 pounds.

She is also suspected in the attempted robbery of a federal credit union at 8800 McGaw Road in Howard County at 3:10 p.m. Friday. A black woman described as being in her early 40s and wearing a Bob Marley T-shirt, white jeans, large brown sunglasses and an auburn-colored wig passed a note to a teller demanding money. After being told cash was not kept at the location, she left in a dark-colored, older model Honda Accord.

Anyone who recognizes the woman or knows anything about the robberies should call police at 703-691-2131 or contact Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477), online at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or by texting TIP187 and the tip to CRIMES/274637.
