Police: Use Caution After Sex Assaults Near Suitland Metro

The Prince George’s County Police Department is urging caution after two reported sexual assaults in the last week, very close to the Suitland Metro Station.  

Both assaults occurred during early morning hours in the 4700 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland, Md., said police.  The female victims were both walking to the Metro station when they were attacked.

The first reported assault was on September 27th.  Police say that around 5:30 a.m. a suspect with a handgun approached a female victim and took her across the street, where he sexually assaulted her behind an abandoned building.

In the second reported assault on October 4th, a suspect with a handgun approached the female victim around 6:45 a.m. and attempted to pull her across the street. Police said she was able to escape and flee to safety.

Police say that in both cases the suspect was armed with a black handgun and was described as a 5’5’’-5’6’’ black male with a dark brown complexion, a close haircut and light facial hair.  The suspect was described as around 25-30 years old.

In the first assault, police say the male suspect was wearing a black jacket, a black and white striped shirt, and acid washed blue jeans with faded brown patches on the front.  In the second assault police say he was wearing a black jacket and black pants.
