To commemorate law officers who’ve been killed in the line of duty, Chapter IV of the Police Unity Tour is holding its inaugural ride from Richmond to D.C. this week.

The riders will arrive at the National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial by about 2 p.m. Thursday for an arrival ceremony. Chapter IV is making a donation of more than $100,000 to the memorial fund.

The ride began Tuesday in Richmond. On Wednesday, the riders cycled from Charlottesville to Warrenton. They are expected to reach Fairfax County at about 9 a.m. Thursday on northbound Lee Highway (Route 29). They plan to break for lunch at the McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center at 4890 Alliance Drive from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m., then head to Route 50 and into D.C.
