Police Seek to Identify Body Found in Anacostia

The victim had distinctive tattoos.

Police are trying to identify the body of a man that was pulled from the Anacostia River in the 1500 block of M Street, SE.

The deathis being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch.

The victim was a black man, 5’3” and 122 pounds, in his mid to late 20s. On his left forearm he has a tattoo of a “W” in black ink, a “D” in black ink, and a pair of dice in black ink, surrounded by what appears to be flames, also in black ink.

He also has two teardrops tattooed under his left eye.

Anyone who knows the identity of the victim or has information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Anonymous information may be submitted by text messaging 50411.
