Police Seek Help Identifying Bank Robber

Thief strikes at four banks across northern Va.

Authorities in northern Virginia are looking for a thief in four similar bank robberies.

The most recent happened at the Bank of Clarke County on North Loudoun Street in Winchester. In all of the incidents, witnesses described a man similar to the one in the surveillance photo above.

During the month of October, police said the robber struck at three other banks in Loudoun and Fairfax counties:

  • Oct. 6: Bank of America on Regal Plaza in Sterling, Va.
  • Oct. 21: Presidential Bank on Reston Parkway in Reston, Va.
  • Oct. 26: Capitol One on Georgetown Pike in Great Falls, Va.

Investigators said in at least two of the robberies, the suspect displayed a weapon. He got away with cash at all four locations.

Anyone who may recognize the man is asked to contact the Loudoun County Sheriff's Department, the Fairfax County Police Department or the FBI.
