Police Seek Car in Killing of 16-Year-Old in Northwest DC

Breon Austin, 16, was shot and killed inside a Northwest D.C. home Friday, and now police are searching for a car in connection with the homicide.

A surveillance camera caught an image of a gray, four-door sedan wit a sunroof and stickers on the driver's side near the 700 block of Princeton Place Northwest, the scene of the shooting.

Austin was shot around 4 p.m. inside his home, police say. A passerby called police to the scene. Austin was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police Chief Peter Newsham said there were several people inside and outside the home who were taken to be interviewed, but said on Friday it was unclear what happened.

Anyone with information is asked to call D.C. police at 202-727-9099. There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
