Police are looking to identify the man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a gas station in Waldorf on Monday.

Authorities said that at about 8 p.m. on April 23, officers responded to the Plaza Shell at 3185 Crain Highway in Waldorf, Md., for a reported armed robbery.

According to officials, the robber entered the business, approached the cashier, and demanded money from the register.

Police said the cashier initially refused to hand over the money, but did so when the robber revealed a handgun. The robber also demanded the cashier's car keys and took off in the car, but abandoned it less than a mile from the gas station.

Authorities described the robber as a white male with green eyes, between the ages of 40 and 50. He was last seen wearing a purple Reebok jacket with white stripes on the sleeves.

Charles County police are in the process of releasing photos of the suspect and are offering a reward up to $1,000 for a tip that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
