The relative safety of San Diego County appears to have prevented it from receiving the federal stimulus funds.

A Metropolitan Police Department officer was attacked in a McDonald's, leading to a foot chase and several injuries.

The officer was at a McDonald's at 5th and D Streets NW when a suspect attacked him.

The suspect then fled, leading police on a foot chase. Police were able to apprehend the suspect.
