Anne Arundel County police say men sparked a stun gun when workers at a Home Depot tried to stop them from walking out with a cart filled with more than $1,000 in power tools.
Officers called to the store in Annapolis on Wednesday were told the men fled in a white Ford Crown Victoria. When officers stopped a similar car, police say a witness identified one man inside as a suspect in the theft.
Two other men in the car were detained and police say officers found a stun gun.
Police have charged 29-year-old Tyrone Freeman of Lanham and 24-year-old Ruston Hopson of Bowie with theft over $1,000 and assault. A third man, identified by police as 24-year-old Antown Barron, was arrested on three warrants for trespassing, but not charged in Wednesday's incident.
