Police Involved in Temple Hills Shooting

Man Tried to Leave Scene of Domestic Dispute

Law enforcement in Prince George's County are looking for a man who fled after an officer discharged his weapon early Sunday.

Police were called to a home in the 2600 block of Keating Street in Temple Hills at around 4 a.m. Sunday for a domestic dispute.

Police spokesman Cpl. Evan Baxter said that a man was trying to leave the area, but officers tried to stop him.

The initial report from police stated that the man tried to run officers over in a gold Acura, and police discharged their firearms in response. However, that description has not yet been confirmed by police.

During the confrontation, Baxter says one officer, fearing for their safety, fired his weapon. He says the man escaped and police are still searching for him.

Baxter says no injuries were reported.
