Police Investigating Shooting in Silver Spring

Montgomery County police are investigating a shooting that followed an altercation in Silver Spring Friday evening.

The shooting happened at about 9 p.m. in the 12000 block of Featherwood Drive.

The victim is an adult man, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police said there was some sort of altercation between several suspects and a security guard. During the struggle, the gun went off striking the victim in the leg.

The security guard was not injured.

Police have one person in custody, but they are still investigating and looking for witnesses to the event.
