Police Investigate Two Sexual Assaults in Forestville

For the second time this month, police received the report of a sexual assault in Forestville, MD.

The first incident occurred September 6, near midnight in the 6200 block of Surrey Service Drive. The female victim was approached from behind by an unknown male who inappropriately touched her. After a short struggle, she was able to escape, according to police.

The second incident happened on September 16, 2011, at around 10:00 p.m. near Pennsylvania Avenue and Walters Lane. Investigators said a female was approached from behind and taken to a wooded area, where she was sexually assaulted. The suspect ran from the scene after the incident.

Police are working to determine if the two attacks are connected.   Prince George's police ask that citizens report any suspicious activity they may have seen in the area.
