Police say the small explosion that prompted a suspicious package investigation came from a firecracker.
Authorities say someone called 911 around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday to report hearing a pop in the area of 49th Street NE and Lee Street NE.
Police say a firecracker was placed by a car parked on the street, causing significant damage to the vehicle. Investigators say the vehicle was targeted.
The area was checked and no hazardous material were found nearby.
49th Street was closed between Lee Street NE and Sheriff Road NE for just over four hours.
