Police Investigate Hair Product Thefts in Northern Virginia

Police believe four burglaries in which thousands of dollars’ worth of hair products was stolen are related.

The first was Saturday about 2:40 a.m. at a Sally Beauty Supply in Woodbridge, where officers responding to an alarm found the front glass door was broken, police said. Security video showed a man inside the store but nothing was reported missing.

At about 7:30 a.m. that day, $4,200 of hair products were taken from a Sally Beauty Supply in Manassas. Again, officers responding to an alarm found the front glass door broken, police said.

Two more burglaries were reported the next morning.

About 12:30 a.m., officers responding to an alarm at a Cosmopolitan Professional in Woodbridge again discovered a front glass door broken, police said. Hair products valued at $2,200 were missing.

Then before 9:30 a.m., the owner of A-Plus Wigs and Hair Beauty Supply in Woodbridge reported that overnight someone broke through the front glass door and took $8,000 worth of hair products.

In each case, the burglar was gone before police arrived. Investigators are checking for surveillance images.
