Police Investigate 2 Fatal Northeast Shootings

    D.C. Police are investigating two fatal shootings that occurred this weekend in Northeast.

    The first shooting took place at approximately 1:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Kenilworth Terrace. While responding to a report of shots fired, police found 22-year-old James Ray Sherrod suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

    Sherrod was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

    Early Sunday morning, police responded to a report of a shooting at 601 Edgewood Street Northeast. There, they found the body of a man who had been shot in the face. Police have not yet released the man's identity.
