Impaired Driver Crashed Into Maryland State Trooper, Police Say

A man was arrested Sunday night after driving his car into the side of the patrol car of a Maryland state trooper.

Anne Arundel County Police say they received calls Sunday evening reporting a driver who was weaving through lanes and driving very slowly.

Trooper Andrew Lee drove to the right side of the suspect's car and ordered him to stop, but the suspect refused. Authorities say Lee then drove ahead of the car, at which time the driver struck the trooper's vehicle. It was not immediately clear if Lee was injured.

Dillon C. Haneke, 23, of Edgewater, has been charged with driving under the influence, assault, and reckless endangerment. He was not injured. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
