D.C. police have arrested a suspect in the brutal -- and fatal -- beating of a man on North Capitol Street last week.
The victim, Thomas Harris, was on his way to buy fireworks.
Police say Kenneth Garner struck Harris in the head with a bat or something similar, then robbed him. Garner is now charged with first-degree murder.
