Police: Burglar Brings 4-Year-Old to Robbery

Police in Arlington, Va. say they nabbed a burglar fleeing a home he had just looted -- and realized he had brought a four-year-old child along for the crime.

The child was found Monday night, after witnesses saw a man sneak into the window of a home in the 5800 block of N. 20th Street. The man fled the scene in a Jeep but was soon stopped by police.

Inside the Jeep police said they found Nehemiah Guillermo Gonzalez, 30, of Arlington, along with antique silverware and gold coins that police said were stolen from the home.

They also found burglary tools, police said -- and the four-year-old child.

Police charged Gonzalez with burglary and related charges, as well as child endangerment.

Two other people were also in the Jeep. Naomi M. House, 35, of Arlington, was charged with second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and child endangerment. Tara Michelle Lumsden, 30, of Herndon, was charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, child endangerment, possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license.

All the suspects were held without bond. The child was released to a family member, police said.
