3 Missing Children, Mother Found Safe: Police

The mother is in violation of a visitation agreement, D.C. police say

UPDATE: Police say the children and mother have been found in good health.

Police are searching for three young children who they believe have been taken by their mother in D.C.

Nine-year-old Sophia Proctor, 3-year-old Ja'nyla Proctor and 2-year-old Aarick Proctor were last seen about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of 14th Street NW, D.C. police said.

Sophia is four feet, eight inches tall and weighs 50 to 60 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white dress, a white sweater, a white headband and silver shoes.

Police have not provided a description or photos of the other two children.

Police put out a missing persons release about Sophia on Wednesday and announced the two other children were missing on Thursday.

Police believe they are with their mother, Julia Monique Rose Proctor, 27. Police said Proctor is in violation of a visitation agreement.

Proctor is five feet, four inches tall and 100 pounds. She was last seen driving a 1998 four-door Volvo station wagon with D.C. tags EK2268.
