PlayStation Users Get a Unique Space Shuttle Chat

Internet chatting? Meh, who needs to type? You can watch the space shuttle Discovery's final mission while speaking with people around the world this afternoon. NASA's teamed up with Sony to offer a unique "social viewing" option on the PlayStation 3.

Gamers can watch the launch today at 4:50 p.m. EST on their consoles and chat with others via Bleutooth headsets.

"We're excited about this new way for people to experience the exhilaration of human spaceflight as part of a larger community," said David Weaver, NASA associate administrator. Sunset Yacht, a part of Sony's interactive community team, will also offer videos of previous NASA missions, as well as podcasts showcasing missions to Mars.

You can learn more about Discovery's final mission by heading to NASA's website.
