A Dulles International Airport fire and rescue unit extinguished a small brush fire Wednesday after a plane from Japan blew its tire while landing.

Airport authority officials said that around noon All Nippon Airways Flight 2 from Narita, Japan, blew a main gear tire while landing. The Boeing 777 plane taxied to the gate and Dulles mechanics examained the airplane landing gear and replaced the tire.

During the inspection no damage was found and the plane was cleared to return to Narita.
