A plane landed at Dulles International Airport with engine trouble Wednesday afternoon.

The United Express flight took off from Dulles about 4 p.m. After takeoff, there was an engine problem. The pilot declared an emergency and shut off one of the engines.

Firefighters were awaiting the plane when it landed safely back at Dulles after 4:40 p.m.

The plane was checked out on the runway and then taxied back to the gate.

No injuries were reported. There's no word on a cause of the malfunction.
