Woman Struck By Train on Penn Line; Service Restored

A person was struck on the Penn Line between Baltimore and Washington Thursday morning, Maryland Transit Administration spokesman Kurt Kroncke of the MTA says.

A woman was struck Thursday morning on the Penn Line between Baltimore and Washington, says Maryland Transit Administration spokesman Kurt Kroncke says.

The collision occured on MARC tracks south of the Odenton station and stopped several trains, forcing some to turn back to their destination. Service has resumed with delays, MTA says.

Crews responded to the scene and attended to a woman estimated to be in her 20s, Anne Arundel Fire reported. She was transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with critical injuries.

Crowds remained on the southbound platform at the station.

Service has now been restored on the Penn Line, with residual delays of up to 90 minutes.
