Pedestrian Struck by Dump Truck Dies

A man has died after being struck by a dump truck in Capitol Heights, Md., authorities said.

The man was struck about 5:40 p.m. on Central Avenue near Daimler Driver, causing the closure of westbound Central between Peppermill Drive and Cindy Lane.

Witnesses told police the man jumped in front of the truck.
