A man was struck twice as he was trying to cross all the lanes of the DC Beltway in Silver Spring Friday night.
Police said Michael Kaufman, 28, from Silver Spring, ran across the inner loop of I-495 near Georgia Avenue when he was hit by a passing car. He apparently continued running and jumped over the concrete barriers in the center median.
Police said he was struck a second time as he attempted to run across the outer loop of I-495.
Kaufman was taken to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda with serious injuries. The incident is still under investigation.
