Howard County police said a man was struck and killed at the Merriweather Post Pavilion parking lot in Columbia Friday night.
Police said a car was backing their vehicle out of a parking space in a grass lot when it struck and ran over Erick Jon Girardin, 42, of Baltimore. Giradin died from the injuries.
Investigators said the driver of the car was not intoxicated at the time of the collision and they are looking into the possibility that Girardin was lying on the ground prior to the incident.
The venue was hosting the M-3 Rock Festival.
