Pedestrian Badly Hurt in Silver Spring Crash

A man was badly injured in a pedestrian crash in Silver Spring on Thursday morning.

John Skelton Williams, 75, of Silver Spring, was struck by a silver 2005 Honda Accord about 9:30 a.m. while crossing Colesville Road near Noyes Drive, according to Montgomery County police. He was conscious but confused and was transported to Suburban Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said that when they arrived, the victim was a hundred feet from a crosswalk on Noyes Drive. However, they haven't yet made an official determination that he was outside the crosswalk when he was hit, reported News4's Tony Tull.

The driver of the Accord, 49-year-old Dennis Stewart of Columbia, stayed at the scene.
