Police: Passenger Stabs Lyft Driver in Head in DC

Police are still searching for the suspects

A Lyft driver took himself to a hospital early Saturday morning after police say a passenger stabbed him several times in Southeast D.C.

The victim told police that he picked up a man and a woman and drove them to the Woodmont Crossing apartments on Good Hope Court SE, a spokesperson for D.C. police said.

When they arrived to the apartment complex, the man and the driver got into an argument. The man then took out a knife and stabbed the driver, causing severe cuts to the driver's head neck and left shoulder, according to the police report.

The man and woman then ran away between apartment buildings, the police report said.

The driver was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital.

Police are still searching for the passengers. Police said the man is in his early 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches, with a dark complexion and dreadlocks. The man was wearing khaki-colored shorts, the police spokesperson said. No description was given for the woman.

Police are asking anyone with information about the attack to contact 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
