Parents Arrested for Neglecting Baby, K2 Possession

Two parents were arrested after they were found under the influence of a synthetic marijuana while their infant was in the back seat.

Police said Brooke Amber Michael, 20, and Michael Patrick May, 20, both of Annapolis, were spotted asleep inside a car at a McDonald’s restaurant. Both were unresponsive when officers arrived and paramedics were called to the scene.

When they were finally awakened, both struggled to hold their balance and their speech was slurred. Officers spotted synthetic marijuana in plain view of the car and determined both to be under the influence and neglecting their 8-month-old infant in the rear seat.

Investigators found packages of synthetic marijuana known as K2 in the car. Both adults were placed under arrest and charged with neglect of a minor and the possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

The infant was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center as a precaution and then released to his grandfather.
