Bao Bao, More Zoo Babies Featured on Limited-Edition SmarTrip Cards

Four cards feature Bao Bao and assortment of adorable friends

Have you always wanted to carry a photo of Bao Bao in your wallet? Yes, of course you have.

For your maximum enjoyment of cuteness, Metro has unveiled four new, limited-edition SmarTrip cards starring some of the National Zoo's most squeal-worthy animal babies, and naturally, that includes the giant panda cub.

The other cards feature four as-yet-unnamed lion cubs born earlier this year; a gray seal pup named Rona, and Sumatran tiger cubs Bandar and Sukacita.

The reusable cards, like other SmarTrips, cost $10 but come pre-loaded with $8 in fare value.

Metro is releasing the cards to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Smithsonian's National Zoo.

The cards are available online now and at Metro-operated sales offices. You'll be able to buy them in any Metro station dispensers by July 4, while supplies last.

Holders of zoo SmarTrip cards can present them at the zoo's three main gift shops to get 10 percent off all purchases.
