Pr. George's Police Make Arrest in Double Homicide

UPDATE: Police announced the arrest of Quindell Mercer on Tuesday morning.

Prince George’s County Police are trying to locate a person of interest in their investigation of two murders that occurred in Fort Washington, Md. on August 4, 2011.

The person of interest, Quindell Mercer, 34, is a family member of both of the victims, said police.

News4 had previously reported that police were investigating a double homicide in the 11800 block of Hickory Drive.

After responding to an early morning call from the home on August 4th, police said they found the bodies of the two victims later identified as Patricia Mercer Harris, 56, and Frank Harris, Jr., 20.

Police say that Mercer is also wanted on unrelated outstanding assault warrants in North Carolina.

Police are asking anyone with information in the case or knowledge of the whereabouts of Quindell Mercer to call (301) 772-4925.
