A Brandywine, Md., resident is dead after a head on vehicle collision with an off-duty FBI agent, according to Prince George’s County Police.

Police said 18-year-old Lawrence Garner Jr. was driving his 2002 Hyundai Sonata southbound on N. Keys Drive in Brandywine when a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero driven by the FBI agent and heading north crossed into the southbound lane and struck Garner’s vehicle head on just before 10 p.m. Monday.

Garner, who lived in the 8700 block of Sheehan Drive, died after being taken to the hospital.

The condition of the agent is not known and police have not released his name because he has not been charged.

Police said that they believe the agent was speeding and under the influence of alcohol.

The case will be handed over to the State Attorney’s Office for any charges upon the completion of the investigation.
