PD: Couple Faked Accident to Get Prescription Drugs

A Charles County couple filed a false police report in order to attain prescription medicine and sell it for heroin, police said.

According to officials, crews were dispatched to the area of Copley Avenue and Stoddert Avenue in Waldorf, Md. for a car accident July 9. When they arrived, a man told them he had been struck by a Honda Accord. Paramedics were dispatched to treat the man for his alleged injuries, until a witness told police the accident never happened.

The witness told police the man and a woman had been sitting on a curb the entire time. At that point, the man admitted he faked the accident in order to obtain prescription medicine and sell it for heroin.

The man and the woman, both aged 44, have been charged with filing a false police report.
