A 16-year-old Maryland boy is accused of bringing a loaded handgun to school in his backpack Friday morning.
According to Bowie Police, the 10th-grade boy was removed from class when another student warned school officials about the gun. Officers found a loaded 40-caliber handgun inside the teen's backpack.
Further interviews with the teen revealed he never pointed the gun or used it to threaten anyone.
He was charged with possession of a handgun and possession of a weapon on school property.
