Arrest Made in Metro Shooting

A person is in custody in the fatal shooting of a man at the Southern Avenue Metro station on Tuesday night

A person was taken into custody in the fatal shooting of a man at a Metro station in Temple Hills on Tuesday night, police say.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police said 43-year-old Harold Detter, of Oxon Hill, was shot in a bus bay at the Southern Avenue Metro Station. The victim was allegedly shot in the head and died almost instantly at the scene.

Authorities said the gunman then fled the scene, running right through the Southern Avenue Metro Station. The station closed soon after the incident but reopened early Wednesday morning.

Prince George's County police arrested Norman Marquarus Bonds, 32, of Temple Hills, Md., and charged him with first-degree murder.

Authorities said the incident is still under investigation.
