Police Make Arrest in One-Man Crime Spree

Suspect led police on a multi-crash chase

A man ran amok in a Centreville house and then started a fire, police said, and that was just the start of his evening.

Fairfax County police said have charged a Centreville man with several crimes in a spree of incidents that ended in a car crash early Tuesday.

Officers were called to a home in the 14500 block of Lock Drive for a report of disorderly behavior.

A man had reportedly set fire to several items in the home, punched out a window and locked himself in the bathroom.

When police arrived, he fled in a vehicle, driving erratically.

Police say he struck a fence at the Chantilly National Golf Club, then minutes later officers saw him hit a car on Route 28, causing injuries to a man in the vehicle who had to be taken to the hospital.  Police also say he hit an officer's vehicle, twice, but with no injuries.

With the help of Virginia State Police, the man's vehicle came to a stop at Route 7100, the Fairfax County Parkway.
