A woman has died and a man is hurt after a shooting Friday night in Anacostia.
Shawntese Murphy, of Suitland, Maryland, died after she and the man were shot on the 1600 block of U Street SE. Murphy was 30.
Police responded about 10:55 p.m. Murphy was pronounced dead on the way to a hospital.
The male victim, who police did not identify, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Information on a suspect was not released immediately.
