One man died and two others were hurt after a horrific car crash early Saturday in Northeast D.C.
The crash occurred about 3 a.m. at New York Avenue NE and North Capitol Street. It was so violent that one vehicle was split in half by the impact.
Three people were injured, including one person who was transported in critical condition. That person, Patrick Kincaid, 33, of Northwest D.C., was pronounced dead at a hospital.
D.C. Fire and Rescue described the scene as a crash with ejection, but it is unclear which person from which vehicle was ejected.
Investigators said one of the cars was traveling westbound on New York Avenue when the driver lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic, striking another vehicle.
The intersection was closed to traffic until shortly before 9 a.m.
