Three Violent Episodes in Forestville in Two Days

Fatal stabbing follows police-involved shooting outside a go-go club

A Prince George's County Police officer discovered a man stabbed at the 7700 block of Marlboro Pike early Sunday morning -- the same block where an officer shot a suspect in the leg early Saturday morning. There was another stabbing in Forestville on Sunday morning, marking two stabbing homicides.

At 3:38 a.m. Sunday morning, an officer walking along the block came upon man who had been stabbed. The officer called for medical assistance. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Minutes after the call for the stabbing came, Prince George's County Police received a call about another stabbing on the 2800 block of Park Lane Drive, also in Forestville. They arrived to discover a man with multiple stab wounds. He was also pronounced dead at the hospital.

On Saturday morning at 4:30 a.m., a Seat Pleaseant Police officer shot a suspect in the leg on the same block where Sunday morning's first stabbing took place. Seat Pleaseant Police and Prince George's County Police officers arrested two suspects.

It is unclear whether the stabbings are related to one another, or whether the stabbing and shooting that took place on the same block are related.

The 7700 block of Marlboro Pike is home to the CFE Event Center, a go-go club targeted and at one time closed by Prince George's County Executive Jack Johnson for the violent crime it appears to draw.
