One suspect is in custody and two remain at large following a robbery and kidnapping in Northeast Washington Wednesday morning.

Police say three men robbed a Subway shop in the 500 block of Morse Street around 3:50 a.m. The suspects fled the area, and one of the men carjacked a woman in a Lexus a short time later. The woman was released unharmed about 12 blocks away.

The suspect then led police on a chase from Florida Avenue NE to Benning Road NE, driving into the area of the Pepco plant. Authorities say the suspect lost control of the car and drove the Lexus partially into the water. He was then taken into custody.

Police say the other two suspects were last seen in a gray Audi. No additional suspect information is available at this time.
