Mother Nature is wrecking havoc on snow removal budgets around the area.
It is only Feb. 2 and Virginia, Maryland and the District already have spent the money set aside to clean the roads.
In Northern Virginia, they are already $5 million over budget and more snow is predicted for this afternoon and the weekend.
Transportation officials emphasize that they will continue to clear the roads, despite budget shortfalls.
They say the money will have to be shifted from other line items -- a tall order considering how lean budgets are in these tough economic times.
