Officers Take Plunge for Charity in Prince George's County

Officers to be in uniform in dunk tank Friday

Department of Corrections officers in Prince George's County are taking the plunge -- yes, in a dunk tank -- to benefit schoolchildren.

Senior officers will participate in a dunk tank event Friday at the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, Md. The officers will be in uniform for the dunks, which will last from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will raise money to benefit the Pencil Box Project, which will purchase school supplies for elementary-age students in Prince George's County.

The project will focus on elementary schools located in the Glassmanor/Oxon Hill community. Pre-packaged supplies will be given to students at the start of the school year.
