A Middleburg, Virginia, police officer is recovering from injuries he sustained after he was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic on Route 50 Saturday evening.
The officer was directing traffic shortly before 6 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the intersection of Route 50 and Winery Lane. The officer was struck by an eastbound 2013 BMW driven by Sara A, Marsh, 53, of Middleburg, Virginia.
The officer was assisting motorists, who parked in the area of Mercer’s Field, to exit onto Route 50 at the time of the incident. He was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he was treated and later released from the hospital.
Marsh was charged with DUI and taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where she was later released.
