Officer Struck by Vehicle During Pursuit of Stolen Car

A Montgomery County police officer was struck by a car while pursuing a stolen car on Interstate 270. 

The incident began just after midnight Thursday when police spotted a stolen car in the area of Montgomery Village Avenue. They attempted to stop they car, but the driver would not stop. 

Police put down stop sticks on the northbound lanes of I-270, blowing out the tires on the suspect's car. The driver and a passenger jumped out of the car and started running. 

Police are still looking for suspects. 

During the pursuit, an officer outside his vehicle near the Clarksburg exit of I-270 South was struck by another driver. 

That driver remained at the scene. 

The officer was flown to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
